He is Risen Indeed
I have been thinking about those words for days and rejoicing in their meaning. The key to salvation rests with the fact that Christ rose from the dead so that we could have salvation. He is risen. He is risen indeed was the greeting spoken among members of the first church. Just as we greet one another with a "hello" or "hey", the first church greeted one another with "He is risen" and a response of "He is risen indeed". And therein lies the difference in this road with Christ. While the birth of Christ is important and His death has great meaning to Christianity, the key to salvation and life after this existence rests on the knowledge and assurance that He rose after death and death did not win. Christ conquered death so that we might have life. He is risen. He is risen indeed.
